Suggests horizontality, nurture, genesis, grounding, confidence, legacy, identity.
The colour fields are intentionally opposing, but also intersected by visual reminiscences of each other, like echoes, like embedded memories of each other. The white space around them conceals their form, while offering a place for both to expand and reverberate.
It is my intention that each one of my paintings claims the space around them, far beyond the boundaries of the canvas, hinting at the actual interior pictorial space within them, unbound and limitless.
