Push and Pull

I am making here a reference to the process I usually follow, where to “Push” the painting forward translates into providing elements to the surface (forms, strokes, projections, transfers, scratches, etc.) trying to create a sense of armony in tension.

When I sense I’ve created suffcient order, I try to reverse the process and dismantle the order I’ve just created, I then “Pull it appart”, reverting the surface to a a chaos, nonetheless fruitfull in terms of fertile remains of possible outcomes.

This process is repeated until an eventual balance of tensions between different composing elements.
